Our 1st grade Sharks are excited to share the highlights from our recent field trip to Cosley Zoo! They had a fantastic time exploring the zoo and learning about various animals, which connected to their second ELA unit theme of Wild and Endangered Animals.
Students had the opportunity to see and learn about a variety of animals, including some that are endangered. They were thrilled to see animals like the lizard because according to the kids it felt like corn on the cob! The zoo staff provided an engaging presentation that taught the children about animal habitats, behaviors, and the importance of conservation.
This field trip perfectly aligned with our ELA unit, where students explored the theme of wild and endangered animals. They recently finished their very own projects that involved researching different species. They presented their final projects at the 1st Grade Animal Expo this past Wednesday. Perfect way to end before Winter break!
