Schafer PTA

The Schafer PTA works to build strong relationships among parents, teachers and the school in support of our students. Some of our jobs include recruiting and coordinating volunteers, providing special recognition in awards ceremonies or through other activities, organizing family events, planning teacher appreciation activities, and more. As a group we are constantly brainstorming new ways to raise funds for everything from playground equipment to school assemblies to field trips and so much more. In addition, we provide annual supplemental funds for teachers to use throughout the school year toward supplies needed in their classrooms.

More than “just” a fundraising group, the Schafer PTA meetings also serve as important venues for discussions about a variety of educational issues. At each meeting the PTA board presents recent news, the school administration speaks to school events, the curriculum, and any new programs being used. Each committee chair persons provide information about upcoming events, and members are welcome to bring up new business. Parents and others in attendance are welcomed and encouraged to ask questions and provide feedback.
