On Tuesday October 3rd, Schafer held its 2nd annual Fall Family Reading Picnic. Families filled the field in front of the school with picnic blankets as they read together while enjoying juice and cookies. Students got to complete their daily reading steps while reading their brand new Fall books they got to pick out. We loved seeing our Schafer families come together to read, especially since we know families that read together grow together!
The reading fun didn’t stop there though. On Wednesday October 4th, our PAWSitive Therapy Troupe was back at Schafer and our Sharks couldn’t be happier to have our furry friends back to be our reading buddies. Schafer’s Literacy Leader, Diana Wirth, was so impressed and excited to see one of our Sharks bring their independent power goal practice along with their book to read to a dog. We truly have some JAW-some readers here at Schafer and we can’t wait to see all the growth they make this year! Goooo Sharks!
