Tuesday October 4th was the perfect afternoon for a picnic, a reading picnic that is! From 2:45- 4:00, families came together to participate in Schafer’s Fall Family Reading Picnic. Families began by collecting their picnic blankets, juice, cookies, and most importantly books from our staff volunteers. Each student was able to pick out 5 books they would be able to read with their family and take home. Once they found their books, each family made their way to find the perfect spot for their reading picnic.
“It was wonderful seeing so many families reading together! Reading is such a great way to bond with your child. Families that read together grow together!” shared Diana Wirth, Schafer’s Literacy Leader.
All books were donated by Enchanted Backpack. Thank you to Enchanted Backpack for making this day magical!
